Replacement is Better!

Source-13wham81b46a5e7dc4
As I turned on my T.V. I noticed a news report about an oil spill that had occurred in the Golf of Mexico I was shocked to know that there were many people dying due to the oil spill. What I also found very sad was that many sea animals were dying because they were either inhaling or eating other animals that had been exposed to the oil this really affects there food chain.
This has affected me as seafood restaurant’s owners because this oils spill has killed most of the sea animals that I give my customers not only has the oil spill give me less sea food but less customers too. Many restaurant owners like me have struggled to keep our restaurants open since we have less sea food, customer and tourist coming by because they are afraid that if the seafood we have is contaminated with the oil. I think that we should start creating different ways that we can replace oil with like more energy cars, or more carpooling, or public transportation for less usage of oil, and maybe even using recycling boxes, cans, bottles, and paper to create more things that don’t need oil in them.

After I did the carbon footprint I noticed that I need to start buying more light bolds that save energy and that I should start recycling a little more. After I went home told my parents that there are many products that we can use to recycle and to save energy after me a my mom went shopping for products that for the house we noticed our bills were a little lower then usual which saved us more money.

Oil Does Affect Our Lives

Source truthdig.

As I waked up one morning I realized that my daughter was running out of diapers so I decided to get ready and catch the bus I waited for 25 minutes and the bus was still not there a few minutes later the bus came I asked the bus driver why had it taken him so long he said that it was hard for him to find gasoline I told him I thought that the company provided them with it he said yeah but the gasoline station for the bus didn’t have enough for all the buses so he had to find a gasoline station on his own. I was shocked that the bus driver had to go look for gasoline. As the bus did its last stop I got off and cross the street to Wal-Mart as I walked in parking lot I noticed that Wal-Mart was closed I wondered if my cousins who used to be the manager was sent to another store or was just fired or unemployed. I also wondered why it had been closed down if it was a great store to shop at.

But I realized that maybe there was no petroleum since there was little gasoline and maybe that’s why Wal-Mart was closed because the company that transported there goods aren’t able to go that far with the little bit of gasoline that they have. Elasticity is an important role in this economic crisis because people know purchase substitute products for the original products which are expensive, substitutes are much cheaper and affordable. People are demanding less of the things that they were once able to afford and are trying to find the cheapest products that substitute those others. I cannot have the luxury of buying my daughter Huggies diapers because they are very expensive so I buy her Luvs diapers which are less expensive and work the same way.

The Animlas are Suffering

Today I was amazed how much oil was spilled into the ocean there was about 5 thousand barrels and 21 thousand gallons spilled. What I also found surprising was that many sea animals were contaminated this really affects my restaurants because I will have a shortage of seafood to provide for my customers. This oil spill will reduce my seafood and I will loose customers and even might have to fire some people from there jobs due to the lack of customers. I have been going through a lot since there's a lot of public misconception about the seafood they still don't think that the seafood is not safe to eat. If people think that the Gulf Coast seafood is contaminated many people will stop buying and my businesses will close down.

Food Shortage

Did you know that many people cannot find fruits and other product's in their local markets. What I did not know was that most of our fruits and vegetables are packed and sent to different states and countries, and in order for them to distribute our fruits they have to use gasoline for there transportation as in the car, boat, and trucks. I think we should start creating more farmers market the only farmers market that I know of is the Santa Monica Farmers Market I have noticed that a lot of people are starting to go there because of there good prices and good quality product that they have in their. What I have also noticed is that many people go to farmer's market because they can always find fresh fruit's that in there local market's they don't have. I think that this food shortage can really affect my life since I have a daughter I have to buy fruit, milk, bagel and other food's that she like as well for her dad ,this shortage will affect me because I would have to find different food's to give them and see how they react to it and if they don't like it I will have a hard time feeding them both.

Icelandic volcano ashe's

Did you know that yet another UK airport has shut down due to the Icelandic ashes. Due to the Icelandic ashes know many people have to drive themselves to there destination this will cause a lot of stress to people because know there would be a lot of traffic jams since many people know have to drive instead of getting a plan to there destination. Icelandic ashes has caused a lot of changes for people many people have cancelled there flights and booked new ones ,due to the Icelandic ashes many people have been stressing out because they have to wait weeks for the ashes to go away know they will have to wait and be stuck in the UK as long as the Icelandic ashes are still there. If I was to eb in that position Iwould be frustrated because I would have to make new booking dates for things that I had to do in my home country.

Today I learned

What I learned today was the meaning behind demand and supply, Demand is when people are willing and able to pay for a product or service.
Supply is when the person who makes the product decides how much the price should be.
What I found surprising in todays quiz was that Saudi Araibia is the largest oil corporation in the world with the largest proven crude oil reserves and production.

The News Report

Today I watched a news report about petroleum and what I found most surprising was that we use petroleum in multiple ways from gasoline for our cars to fertilize our crops, and to the clothing we wear to the paintings on our walls to food additives. I was very surprised to know that we need petroleum for many thing's not just for cars and machines. This changed my way of seeing things because it made me see how we rely on petroleum in variouse ways.
